Tomaquag Museum Trip In Exeter Rhode Island

Published

On Thursday June 24, 2021 a team from our Providence office had the pleasure of visiting the Tomaquag Museum in Exeter, RI. In 1958, Mary E. Glasko, known as Princess Red Wing, Narragansett/Pokanoket-Wampanoag, applied her cultural knowledge to her devotion to education and founded Rhode Island’s first and only Indigenous Museum with the help of her friend, Eva Butler.

Since it began, Tomaquag Museum dedicated its resources to educating the community as well as advocating for the Indigenous people of New England. “Getting to see, learn and show support for Tomaquag Museum has been an absolute pleasure. We are looking forward to visiting their new location at the University of Rhode Island as soon as it opens!”-Donna Nesselbush, Partner
