Job Summary

Marasco & Nesselbush, a Southern New England firm focusing on serious injury and medical negligence cases is seeking an entry level litigation attorney to join our growing team.  The attorney will be responsible for handling, under the mentorship of experienced attorneys, a diverse caseload of injury cases in a dynamic and supportive culture.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Personally handle under the supervision of a senior attorney a file load of personal injury and medical malpractice cases
  • Extensive client interaction including intake and subsequent communications
  • Prepare demands and negotiate successful resolutions on behalf of clients
  • Advocate and litigate on behalf of injured clients at depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trial
  • Independently research, interpret and apply legal principles in the context of motion practice and litigation
  • Attend and participate in weekly team meetings relating to the evaluation and advancement of injury and malpractice cases
  • Work collaboratively with senior attorneys in litigating complex medical negligence and serious injury cases
  • Active involvement in all phases of client representation from initial office conferences, case development, demand, negotiation, and litigation

Schedule:

We are currently working with a hybrid schedule, initially the expectation is that new employees will be in the office five days to facilitate training and mentorship.  Thereafter, the team is working remotely up to two days per week. 

Supplemental pay types:

  • Incentives based on fee generation

Experience:

  • Personal injury law: 1-2 years (preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Fully licensed to practice law in Rhode Island. Licensing in Massachusetts, and/or Connecticut is a plus
  • Bar (Required)

  • Extensive experience in Complex Litigation
  • Strong academic credentials

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
