Back To School Tips

Schools are taking every precaution to keep their students safe, but there are also many ways families can help. Here are some tips to keep in mind to help keep you and your children safe and prepared as they return to school:

Clean Hands

Try to get your family into the habit of washing hands frequently. The CDC recommends 20 seconds of washing and to help time this, they suggest humming the “Happy Birthday” song two times from beginning to end. When you are unable to wash your hands with soap and water, use hand sanitizer ideally with 60% or more alcohol to keep clean. Source: health.ri.gov

Wear Masks

Mask wearing is also very important, but it may be difficult for young children. Have your children practice wearing a mask at different times throughout the day, so that they can get used to it. Also a good tip is to wash the reusable cloth masks daily. Source: www.ride.ri.gov

Sleep schedule

Consider starting your children on their school sleep schedule a week or so ahead of time so that the change in schedule is not a factor on their first couple of days of school. Source: www.healthychildren.org

Set Goals

Your children are special and should shoot for the stars. Make a list goals before the school year gets started and keep checking back to see progress. Source: www.today.com From the Personal Injury team of Marasco & Nesselbush.
